Snape Cosplay: Severus in his Seventh Year at Hogwarts

Teenage Snape. One of my early Snape Cosplays. This is also what I wore to the Deathly Hallows Pt 2 Midnight Premiere.





This how I saw Severus Snape in his Seventh Year at Hogwarts. These are the clothes he would have worn while he was becoming a Death Eater. They are meant to be better than he is used to having grown up poor in Spinners End, as these would have been given to him by his wealthy friends in Slytherin. There is a detailed origin story for the coat in my fic, "The Seprent Cycle: Severus" which I was writing at the time. I have a lot of very good memories from those early summer months...

Alan Rickman interview on Arts Leisure Weekend

Yesterday, the ladies and I attended Alan Rickman's talk at The Times Center. One of my good friends asked him if there was a character he connected with most, to which he gave an absolutely beautiful response.

After that we headed for Central Park for some Cosplay and Wizard Chess. The weather was lovely for January. It could have been spring.

A friend was kind enough to share this with me. I'm not sure I'm ready to watch it myself however. We all saw the film multiple times together in the theater, but none of us can watch the thing on DVD, not yet, and certainly not alone.

Snape Cosplay: Professor Snape NYCC

Me as Professor Snape at The New York City Comic Con 2011. I made the costume myself, took me from the end of July until the middle of October to complete, but so worth it. I love my costume so much. I even cut the wig myself - but I no longer need a wig now of course! My real hair looks like that now!

"Severus," he said with a weak smile, "Get some sleep. I find that when I am thoroughly upset by something, that there is nothing better then a good nights sleep to help clear one's head and refocus. Trust me. Sleep now Severus, and by morning your anguish will be far lessoned."

"Sleep." I said flatly. Was he mental? "That is your answer? Just tell me now what you want from me."

"Severus you have not slept in days. Please listen," and for the first time, perhaps ever he spoke to me with what almost seemed like kindness. "There is a room, it has not been used in many years, but I've had Filch make up this room for you. It will be yours. It will be a home for you, while you remain here in the castle. Let me take you there now. You can rest, clean yourself up and begin to settle yourself permanently. In the morning we can discuss the future. Will that be all right Severus?"

"Haha - Zombies!"
